A Wharton man is being held in the Wharton County Jail after an investigation by the Wharton Police Department into allegations involving juvenile victims.

According to the Wharton Police Department, detectives began investigating after receiving a delayed report of sexual assault involving juveniles on April 1, 2026.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at the residence of Daniel Webster, 61, of Wharton. Authorities said the investigation involved assistance from the Texas Rangers and the Texas Attorney General’s Office, which led to arrest warrants being obtained.

Police said Webster is currently incarcerated on three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of possession of child pornography. Authorities stated he is being held without bond on all charges.

Due to the ages of the victims, no identifying information has been released.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional charges could be forthcoming, according to police.
