Wharton City Pool Opens for Summer Season

WHARTON — The Wharton City Pool officially opened for the summer season on Tuesday, June 2, and will remain open through Aug. 2, providing residents with a place to cool off during the hot summer months.

According to information released by the City of Wharton, the pool will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Regular public swimming hours will continue throughout the summer season.

In addition to daily swimming, the city will host Family Fun Nights on Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., giving families an opportunity to enjoy extended evening hours at the pool.

Residents interested in purchasing a season pass, enrolling in water aerobics, or booking a pool party can contact the City of Wharton at 979-532-4811, extension 603 for additional information.

With temperatures rising across Southeast Texas, city officials encourage residents to take advantage of the pool as a way to stay active, cool off, and enjoy the summer.

Pool Schedule

  • Season: June 2 – Aug. 2, 2026
  • Public Swim: Tuesday–Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Family Fun Nights: Wednesdays and Fridays, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
