El Campo’s Oakcrest South Apartments To Receive $4.68 Million Renovation

EL CAMPO — A major renovation project is underway at Oakcrest South I & II Apartments in El Campo, with nearly $4.7 million in improvements planned for the 72-unit affordable housing community.

According to a project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), the renovation carries an estimated cost of $4,680,000 and includes upgrades to Buildings A through L as well as the property’s community building at 1415 W. Norris St. The project was registered on July 14, 2026, and is expected to be completed by June 1, 2027.

The filing describes the work as a renovation and alteration project covering approximately 63,443 square feet. Planned improvements include renovations to the apartment units and community building, along with the removal and replacement of site concrete where needed to meet accessibility requirements.

The project is listed as being privately funded on private property.

Oakcrest South is a 72-unit apartment community in El Campo offering one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments.
