EL CAMPO — H-E-B has filed plans for a limited interior renovation at its El Campo store as part of the company’s Fresh Initiative program.

The project will cover approximately 120 square feet inside the store at 306 N. Mechanic St., according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. It is not a full-store remodel.

H-E-B’s Fresh Initiative focuses on targeted food-service improvements at selected stores. Projects under the program can include new equipment for hot-food programs, expanded Meal Simple selections and updates to deli or refrigerated areas.

The El Campo project is privately funded and has an estimated cost of $218,655. Construction is scheduled to begin Nov. 2 and be completed by Nov. 16.

The state filing describes the work only as a “minor interior remodel.” It does not specify which improvements are planned for the El Campo location or which department will be affected.

The project was registered with the state on Aug. 7. No store closure or changes to regular business hours were listed.

Project costs, construction dates and other details included in state filings are subject to change.
