EAGLE LAKE — A large residential home was destroyed in an overnight fire early Monday after firefighters from multiple departments responded to assist the Eagle Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

According to the Garwood Volunteer Fire Department, crews were dispatched at 12:52 a.m. alongside the East Bernard Volunteer Fire Department, Rock Island Volunteer Fire Department, and Colorado County EMS to a residential structure fire in Eagle Lake.

When firefighters arrived, the approximately 4,400-square-foot home was already fully engulfed in flames. Crews worked through the night to bring the fire under control.

The Garwood Volunteer Fire Department also recognized the assistance of the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office and the Eagle Lake Police Department, highlighting the cooperation between local emergency responders during the incident.

Although the home was ultimately lost, officials said all firefighters, EMS personnel, and first responders safely returned home after the response.

The cause of the fire has not been released, and no information regarding injuries or occupants was immediately available.
