FRELSBURG — Multiple emergency agencies responded to a structure fire Wednesday morning in the 1800 block of Frelsburg Road after the Bernardo Volunteer Fire Department requested mutual aid.
According to the Columbus Volunteer Fire Department, crews were dispatched at approximately 8:30 a.m. to assist Bernardo VFD with the fire.
Joining the response were the Frelsburg Volunteer Fire Department and Cat Spring Volunteer Fire Department, which supplied tanker trucks to establish a continuous water supply for firefighters battling the blaze.
Also responding to the scene were the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado County EMS.

The Columbus Volunteer Fire Department thanked all responding agencies for their teamwork and professionalism, noting that the coordinated mutual aid response helped bring the incident to a safe conclusion.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not been released. It is also unknown whether any injuries were reported.
