WHARTON — Wharton’s newest fast-food restaurant is officially open for business.

The new Taco Bell, located at 1510 N. Richmond Road, opened its doors in Wharton, bringing the national restaurant chain to a new standalone location between Little Caesars and Titus Car Wash.

The opening follows months of development at the property. Earlier project records filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation listed the Wharton Taco Bell as approximately 2,089 square feet, with an estimated construction cost of $1.5 million.

More recently, Taco Bell began advertising several positions for the Wharton restaurant through its online careers website, another indication that the opening was approaching.

A photo shared by Jennifer Decker-McDaniel shows the Wharton Taco Bell team gathered outside the completed restaurant ahead of the opening.

The restaurant adds another dining option along N. Richmond Road, an area of Wharton that has continued to see new commercial development.
