Wharton Boys & Girls Club Members Attend FIFA 2026 Training Session in Houston

HOUSTON — Members of the Wharton Boys & Girls Club were among more than 250 youth from Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston who recently attended a special training session featuring the Democratic Republic of the Congo National Team at the FIFA 2026 Houston Training Center.

The event, held in Houston, gave participants the opportunity to watch the national team train ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026 activities. Attendees also had the chance to meet players and experience an international soccer environment firsthand.

According to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, the organization provides after-school programs, mentorship, and academic support to more than 55,000 young people across the region.

The Wharton Boys & Girls Club shared that opportunities like this help expose members to new experiences while encouraging confidence, teamwork, and personal growth.

The event was made possible through partnerships involving FIFA, Impact Houston, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston.
