WHARTON COUNTY — As Independence Day approaches, communities across Wharton County are preparing for a full day of patriotic celebrations. Whether you’re looking for live entertainment, family-friendly activities or a fireworks show, residents will have several local options on Saturday, July 4.

Wharton – 250th Celebration / Freedom Fest

📅 Date: Saturday, July 4
🕕 Time: 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
📍 Location: Wharton County Historical Courthouse, 100 S. Fulton St., Wharton

Hosted by the Wharton County Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture, the celebration commemorates America’s 250th anniversary with an evening of live entertainment and community activities. Attendees can enjoy fireworks, a DJ and dancing, food and retail vendors, a watermelon eating contest, and a special recognition honoring veterans from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. Lawn chairs are encouraged.


El Campo – Red, White & Lagoon Blue

📅 Date: Saturday, July 4
🕕 Time: 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
📍 Location: Lost Lagoon RV Resort, 665 County Road 451, El Campo

Lost Lagoon’s annual Independence Day celebration will feature live music, food vendors, family-friendly activities and a fireworks finale. The event is part of the resort’s Fourth of July Weekend Bash.


East Bernard – Fourth of July Extravaganza

📅 Date: Saturday, July 4
🕕 Event Hours: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
🎬 Outdoor Movie: 7:00 p.m.
🎆 Fireworks: 9:00 p.m.
📍 Location: East Bernard City Park

The City of East Bernard will host its first annual Fourth of July Extravaganza. Families can enjoy vendors, an outdoor showing of Independence Day beginning at 7 p.m., followed by a fireworks show at 9 p.m.


Boling – Volunteer Fire Department Fireworks Show

📅 Date: Saturday, July 4
🕘 Time: At dark (approximately 9:00 p.m.)
📍 Location: Boling Community Center, Boling

The Boling Volunteer Fire Department’s annual fireworks show returns Saturday evening. Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, family and friends to enjoy the community fireworks display.


With celebrations taking place throughout the county, residents have several opportunities to enjoy Independence Day close to home. Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early, plan for increased traffic around event locations, stay hydrated and celebrate safely throughout the holiday weekend.
