EL CAMPO — Small-business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs from Wharton County and the surrounding area will have access to state, federal and local business resources when the Governor’s Small Business Summit comes to El Campo this fall.
The summit will be held Thursday, Oct. 15, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the El Campo Civic Center, located at 2350 N. Mechanic St.
The event will offer informational sessions covering subjects important to small-business owners. Attendees will also be able to meet with resource providers, speak with business experts and network with other entrepreneurs.
The day will begin with a resource fair and networking hour from 8 to 9 a.m. Welcoming remarks will follow from 9 to 9:30 a.m., with sessions, speakers and lunch scheduled from 9:45 a.m. to 1:35 p.m. The summit will conclude at 2 p.m.
Registration costs $20 and includes admission to all sessions, access to resource providers, lunch and complimentary professional headshots.
The El Campo summit is being hosted in partnership with the City Development Corporation of El Campo and the Texas Workforce Commission.
El Campo is one of 15 Texas communities selected to host a Governor’s Small Business Summit during 2026. The events are intended to connect business owners with information and resources that can help them start, strengthen or expand a business.
According to Gov. Greg Abbott’s office, Texas has more than 3.5 million small businesses that employ nearly half of the state’s workforce.
