WHARTON — Wharton County Junior College will celebrate its 80th anniversary with a free evening of music featuring college students, faculty and community performers later this month.
The WCJC Choir will present “An Evening of Music” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Horton Foote Theatre in the Duson-Hansen Fine Arts Building on the college’s Wharton campus.
A reception will begin at 6 p.m., offering light refreshments and promotional items. The concert and reception are free and open to the public.
The performance marks the WCJC Choir’s first concert of the Fall 2026 semester and will feature several college faculty members, including Band Director Dr. Jeffrey Anderson, music instructors Dr. Brittany May and Debra Lemson, and Choir Director Dr. Karl Paoletti, who will perform alongside his wife, Ronda.
The WCJC Community Choir, directed by Mike Henderson, will also take the stage and join the college choir for a performance of Everything’s Coming Up Broadway!
The concert is part of WCJC’s yearlong celebration marking 80 years since the college was founded in 1946.
